Project Surfboard
Project Summary
Project Surfboard was a bold and creative initiative aimed at securing sponsorship from the renowned surf brand Billabong. The project initially involved a seven-day series of challenges where at the end I designed a custom surfboard and personally delivered it to Billabong’s headquarters in Australia. Following this, I made a second attempt to connect with the brand by designing a hoodie and delivering a miniature surfboard to their Huntington Beach HQ.
Purpose and Impact
The project sought to raise awareness about stroke rehabilitation and inspire others to take bold actions for meaningful causes. During the initial seven-day challenge, I pushed myself out of my comfort zone by participating in various discomfort activities, including stand-up comedy, singing on the street, and handing letters of kindness to strangers among many other activiites. Through these challenges, I raised over $400 for the Stroke Foundation, which supports stroke survivors with services like speech therapy, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy. Project Surfboard demonstrated the power of creativity and personal storytelling in creating connections and promoting social impact.
